Pray for:
Strength and renewal for our government leaders as well as high level army and security officials who face constant criticism, blame and anger. Against division in the government and for the right coalition to form of leaders who can work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect.
Guidance for correct strategy as we come to the end of the second phase of the war, including the ability to disarm the last remaining terrorist cells still operating in Gaza.
Protection for the soldiers who are involved in present combat. It's become guerrilla warfare which is very difficult to quell. 'No weapon fashioned against you will prosper.' Isaiah 54:17
The security situation in the West Bank territories (areas captured in the 1967 war which have partial independence and self-governance in cooperation with Israel.) There are terrorist strongholds in these areas which have been emboldened by the conflict in Gaza, igniting what has become the eastern front to this war.
Wisdom for our leaders currently involved in hostage release negotiations; where to draw the line for concessions. There have been some recent breakthroughs in talks with Egypt, whose cooperation on their border with Gaza (Philadelphi Corridor) is crucial.
Supernatural strength and stamina for the hostages. It is unfathomable how they are staying alive and what their mental and physical condition is. Some hostages who were previously freed said they maintained sanity by quoting psalms. Pray that they would find a spiritual thread of hope to cling to!
Continued healing, recovery for the wounded. Hundreds of soldiers as well as civilians injured in the October 7 attack have been severely wounded, challenging our medical facilities.
Arab Israelis including Arab Israeli Christians, who are caught between their support for the country on the one hand, and identification with Palestinians and Gazans on the other hand. The Arabic speaking Bedouins from the south and Druze from the north, many of whom serve faithfully in the army, have paid an enormous price in this war, particularly with fallen soldiers.
The rebuilding of Gaza including infrastructure, education without hateful indoctrination, and medical facilities. And most important the right body to carry this out, which will probably be a combination of non Hamas linked Palestinians and internationals, with Israel maintaining control over security measures.
The northern front where a controlled war is already taking place with Hezbollah. As the more intense phase of the war in Gaza comes to an end, all eyes will be on the north.
Displaced citizens from northern and southern communities unable to return to their homes, work and school.
For the Messianic community and congregations in Israel, including many messianic soldiers. That the Lord would lead us to embrace the needs of those within and without of our communities and bear fruit for His kingdom.
