Global Prayer Request: Israel at War in Rafah

Updated: Jun 20

Tikkun Global Jerusalem, Israel

The war in Rafah rages on. Soldiers are reporting an unprecedented number of tunnels in this southern area of Gaza, almost under every home. The tunnels link the city to Egypt and have supplied a smuggling route for drugs and ammunition. So, it is crucial to cut off this line.

  • Pray for successful destruction of these tunnels, as always without harming civilians and hostages.

The IDF has not yet entered the city center of Rafah, which will require evacuation of thousands of residents.

  • Pray for the right timing to enter the city, the last stronghold in Gaza.

  • Pray for an effective and safe evacuation, a mammoth task. What is impossible for man is possible for God.

The West Bank, territories under Israeli jurisdiction with partial self-rule, remains volatile. The IDF has been operating to dismantle terrorist cells there to prevent another “Gaza Strip” situation. Several European countries have declared a Palestinian State in the West Bank without cooperation from the Israeli government.

  • Pray for moderate leaders to arise among the Arab population who will desire coexistence and not radicalism.

The northern front is becoming intolerable with daily rocket attacks. Up to 100,000 residents have been evacuated from their homes and livelihood. The rockets cause vast fires and much of the forests and agriculture have been destroyed.

  • Pray for wisdom for our leaders to know when and how to fully confront this crisis.

  • Pray for the dismantling of Hezbollah, operating in southern Lebanon.

  • Pray for strength and unity among the Messianic congregations in Israel and grace and protection upon the soldiers.

  • Pray for the many cooperative works between Messianic Jewish believers and Arab Christians to bear fruit.

  • Pray against depression and hopelessness in our country and that the pressure of war will cause people to turn towards God and not away from Him, that they will find true comfort and hope in the Messiah.
