The US President, Abraham Lincoln, dedicated his life to preserving the union of the North and the South during the Civil War. WATCH today as Asher shares insights into praying for unity as he stands in front of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC and reflects on this President’s legacy.
But He (Yeshua), knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?… Luke 11:17-18
Some of the same things that caused division back in Lincoln’s day are still challenging us today. This is also true in Israel. When we stand in the gap in prayer for the nations and for individuals it is often like trying to hold together two opposing sides, like the two sticks of Judah and Israel in Ezekiel 37 that God wanted united under King David.
Of course, morally there are times when divisions are necessary. But, most of the time, our struggle is over the need to hold onto unity in love. We need to pray daily for the Kingdom of Yeshua to be united and standing and the kingdom of Satan to be divided and fallen.
