For months IDF has been watching plans for Hezbollah to attack Israel. Such an attack was the hope of Hamas to drag Israel into an area-wide war.
This morning IDF intelligence saw the deployment of Hezbollah forces to start the attack. In response, Israel launched a preemptive attack. 100 IDF fighter jets were sent out in two waves of 20 minutes each, starting at 5:00 AM. The United States military command was kept up to date on the strike.
This strike destroyed 270 targets that were part of the planned attack from Hezbollah. Those targets included 6,000 short-range missiles aimed at hitting northern Israel. This action has turned the focus of the war from Gaza to Lebanon.
Hezbollah announced that they had hit 11 Israeli military bases, including the strategic Gelilot base in northern Tel Aviv. IDF said that none of those reports were true and that none of the bases were damaged. One Israeli sailor was killed from a deflected hit from an Iron Dome rocket on the Israeli side. Two houses in Israel were damaged by direct hits from Hezbollah missiles.
The preemptive strike was termed a great success by the IDF. It restored more of Israel's military deterrence ability. However, efforts to return the 100,000 Israeli evacuees to their homes on our northern border would take much more time. Hezbollah has stockpiles of 160,000 rockets. Hezbollah will likely wait for instructions from Iran concerning future actions.
Thank you for your immediate and continued prayer for God's will to be done in this multi-tiered war against Israel. This war is not only military and political, it has dimensions which are psychological, spiritual, informational, angelic, and even apocalyptic.
