Shavuot Prayer

It is so simple. It is so profound. It is so earth shaking. It’s so exciting.

“In the end times I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh” (Acts 2:17)

This has not happened yet. It really will happen. It will happen soon.

When does this happen? – In the end times.

What will happen? – Outpouring of the Holy Spirit

To whom will it happen? – All flesh.

There are three major elements:

  1. In the end times,

  2. God will pour out His Spirit,

  3. On all nations.

Any individual or congregation can receive the Holy Spirit at anytime. Yet this prophecy is referring to a world-wide revival. Gifts of prophecy will be multiplied, particularly among the younger generation (Acts 2:17-18). It will happen during the events concerning the end times and the tribulation (Acts 2:19-20). It will usher in the Second Coming of Yeshua, the great and terrible day of the Lord (Acts 2:20). It will be accompanied by a massive sweep of evangelism (Acts 2:21).

This is the same kind of revival that the disciples experienced in Acts 2. But it is yet to come. It will involve all nations. It happens right before the Second Coming instead of right after the First Coming. It will be accompanied by fire – not just fire of revival, but also the fire of judgment. The fire of the First Pentecost (Shavuot) launched the gospel and the Church around the world from Israel. The Second Pentecost will bring Yeshua back to Israel and establish the kingdom of God on earth.

Before the outpouring in the first century, the early Messianic believers prayed together in unity all night in anticipation of Shavuot (Acts 1:14; Acts 2:1). In the twenty-first century, it is upon us, Christians around the world and Messianic Jews in Israel and the Diaspora, to pray together in unity all night, in anticipation of this great end times’ outpouring. As we do the same preparations they did, we will look forward in faith to the same kinds of results, and greater.

Simon Peter’s prophecy was quoting from Joel. Joel went on to mention that the catalyst for the prayer leading to the world-wide revival would be the renewed Messianic Jewish remnant in Israel (Joel 3:1). It will happen parallel to the time that the nations are gathering against the people of Israel and the land of Israel (Joel 3:2). All the conditions are coming into place now as they have never been in history.

We want to be obedient to this heavenly vision. Won’t you please join us in prayer and intercession? Pastors, prayer houses, and youth groups in Israel will be praying all night, from 10:00 PM Saturday May 26 until 10:AM Sunday May 27. Wherever you are, you are invited to pray along with them.

The central event of the end times is the 2nd Coming of Yeshua. That event is real and literal. The clearest two passages in the Scriptures describing the 2nd Coming are Revelation 19 and Zechariah 14. Revelation 19 gives the heavenly perspective; Zechariah 14 the earthly perspective.

Revelation 19:11-15 describes the heavens open and Yeshua leading the heavenly armies to descend in a battle. Verse 19 states that Yeshua comes to destroy the combined forces of the armies of the nations gathered together on earth. However, it doesn’t state where on earth they are gathered. The reason that the location isn’t stated in the book of Revelation is that it is already stated in the book of Zechariah.

“I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem”(Zechariah 14:2).

When those nations attack, Yeshua will come forth to fight against them, defeat them, and His feet will then stand upon the Mount of Olives.

“Then YHVH will come forth and fight against those nations, as He fights in the day of battle; and in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives” (Zechariah 14:3-4).

In order for Yeshua to return, Jerusalem must be re-occupied, as Yeshua predicted (in Luke 21:24). There will also be a revival of faith in Israel (Romans 11:26; Zechariah 12:10) and the people of Jerusalem will cry out to invite Yeshua to return (Matthew 23:39). In order for an international attack on Israel to take place, there must be a worldwide organization uniting the nations (such as the UN) and a worldwide religion (such as Islamic extremism) inciting the nations to “wipe Israel off the map.”

Although the armies of the nations will believe that they are justified to attack Jerusalem, the attack will be seen by heaven as an attack against Yeshua Himself.

“I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army” (Revelation 19:19).

The political, economic and military elements that will comprise this final battle are already in place. The early stages of the battle have already begun.

Yeshua will fight against those who attack Jerusalem, whatever their religious or ethnic background. Every individual person, every national entity, and every religious group will have to decide which side to be on. Neutrality will not be an option. The issue of Jerusalem will become the “stone of offense” (Zechariah 12:3) and the “plumb line” (Amos 7:7) in the hand of the Lord through which to judge the nations. The 2nd Coming of Yeshua and the battle over Jerusalem are essentially connected one to another.
