Tikkun Statement Regarding IHOPKC/Sanctuary Church

To our brothers and sisters in the Body of Messiah:

Yesterday, the Tikkun Global senior leadership team was caught off guard by the public release of articles of incorporation regarding a new church, Sanctuary Church, emerging from the former Forerunner Church associated with IHOPKC. These documents listed “Tikkun Ministries” (our actual name is Tikkun Global or Tikkun International) as one of two beneficiaries in the event of the dissolution of Sanctuary Church.

Numerous journalists and friends have reached out to us and those associated with us, seeking to know:

  • Did we have any involvement in this new entity? No, we did not.

  • Did we know that we were listed as beneficiaries? No, we did not.

  • Have we backed away from calling for an independent third-party investigation regarding the allegations against Mike Bickle and IHOPKC? No, we have not.

Our commitment to transparency and accountability remains unwavering. We were not involved in any way with the establishment of this new congregation. The fact that we are listed as a beneficiary came as a surprise to us. We have not backed away from our call for an independent third-party investigation, which we believe should be submitted to an external group of elders in the body of Messiah. We are deeply concerned that IHOPKC leadership has refused to move in this direction.

We have reached out to one of the signers on the articles of incorporation and asked that Tikkun Global’s name be removed as a beneficiary. We have always wanted to be helpful and involved in assisting IHOPKC leadership in a process that would address these credible allegations—of clergy sexual abuse and how they were handled—with integrity, according to biblical principles. Even now, we are willing to help.
